Challenge
Medical practice is inherently non-linear and presents numerous challenges, particularly in managing and consulting clinical data effectively. Additionally, healthcare professionals often face time constraints when engaging with patients.
The challenge was to develop a smart, intuitive web application designed to streamline the time clinicians spend interacting with technology, thereby allowing them to focus more on patient care.
Solution
To address the challenge, multiple sessions were conducted with stakeholders to evaluate the existing applications, along with user interviews and on-site observations. The primary issue identified by users was the inability to consult information and enter new records concurrently, resulting in significant time delays when transitioning between these tasks.
Result
A web application was developed featuring a dual interface for patient profiles, incorporating a reading area and a recording area that can be accessed simultaneously.
This setup enables clinicians to review historical information while entering new records, thus enhancing system interaction and streamlining consultation times.
The left section, designated for reading, includes a chronological timeline of events alongside a view of clinical categories that aggregates all relevant records. Meanwhile, the right section facilitates data entry, providing not only a space for free text but also shortcuts for efficiently inputting all essential information required for a medical consultation.
